Source: Simply in Season

  • 1 c. flour
  • ½ c. whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  1. Mix ingredients
    • ½ c. butter or oil
    • ½ c. milk
  2. Mix in butter or oil until crumbly.  Add milk.  Mix with for until a ball of soft dough forms.  Press into 9 x 13” baking pan.
    • 4 c. assorted fruits: ground cherries, peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, sweet cherries, gooseberries, blueberries, raspberries, halved green figs.
    • 1 c. sugar (or to taste)
  3. Mix and spread over dough.
    • ¾ c. sugar or brown sugar
    • ¾ c. flour
    • 1 TB butter
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
    • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  4. Mix and spread over fruit.  Bake in preheated oven at 375° for 30-45 minutes.  Best served that day.
